Dendrobium rigida
Quantity: 1 Plants Blooming Size
Dendrobium rigida, also known as the smooth tongue orchid or smooth tick orchid, is an epiphytic or lithophytic orchid native to tropical North Queensland and New Guinea. It features slender, pendulous stems measuring 20–30 mm (0.8–1 in) long and about 3 mm (0.12 in) wide. Its leaves are dark green, egg-shaped, smooth, and fleshy, growing 30–60 mm (1–2 in) long and around 15 mm (0.59 in) wide. The orchid produces fragrant, yellow-orange flowers that grow inverted on a short inflorescence up to 5 cm (2 in) long, bearing one to six blooms. For best results, mount this species on tree fern or cork to accommodate its trailing growth habit.
