Thank you for shopping with Sib Orchid. We are committed to delivering healthy plants safely and securely to customers in the United States and Puerto Rico.

1. Order Processing & Preparation

Due to the nature of live plants and international export regulations, all orders require official documentation and inspection before shipment.

Order Preparation Time:

7–14 business days
(After receiving a valid import permit, if required)

Preparation includes:

Plant inspection
Phytosanitary certification
Export documentation
Packing and handling

Orders will only be prepared after all required import documents are approved.

2. Import Permit & PPQ 587 Requirement

U.S. import regulations vary depending on plant type.

Plants that normally do NOT require an import permit:

Hoya (houseplants)
General houseplants
Platycerium (staghorn ferns)
Ferns

Plants that REQUIRE an import permit (PPQ 587):

Species orchids (Species-type orchids)
Certain regulated plant species

If any items in your order require a PPQ 587 Import Permit, our team will inform you after receiving your order.

Shipment preparation will begin only after the buyer provides a valid import permit.

Applying for PPQ 587 is simple and free.
Buyers can easily submit the application online through the USDA APHIS system.

Orders without required documentation cannot be shipped.

3. Shipping Method & Delivery Terms

Shipping method will be selected at the seller’s discretion to ensure the safest and most appropriate delivery method for each plant.

We primarily ship via:

DHL Express
Dragon Courier

All shipments are sent under DAP (Delivered At Place) terms.

This means:

Shipping cost covers transportation only
Import duties, tariffs, taxes, and customs clearance fees are the responsibility of the buyer

Buyers may inquire about the shipping method in advance by providing their plant list.
Please note that some plant species can only be shipped via DHL Express due to import regulations or handling requirements.

4. Delivery Time

Delivery times remain the same for both shipping methods:

Total delivery time depends on:

Import permit approval
Customs clearance
Destination location

5. Shipping Rates & Fees

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on package weight and destination.

All shipments are sent under DAP terms:

Shipping fees cover transportation only
U.S. import duties, tariffs, and customs clearance fees are not included
Any additional charges imposed by U.S. Customs or courier companies are the responsibility of the buyer

6. Recipient Contact Information

The recipient must provide a valid phone number for the destination address.

If the recipient cannot be contacted, the shipment will not be dispatched.
Orders will remain on hold until all required contact information is provided.

This is necessary for customs clearance, delivery coordination, and agricultural inspection.

7. Shipment Confirmation & Tracking

Once shipped, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information.

DHL Express: Tracking activates within 24 hours
Dragon Courier: Tracking updates once the parcel is handed over to Courier in the USA

8. Important Notes

Live plants are shipped at the buyer’s risk once handed to the carrier.

We do not ship to P.O. Boxes. A valid physical address is required.

Weather conditions, customs inspection, and agricultural inspections may affect delivery time.
