Description

Eria obesa

Quantity: 1 Plant

Size: Blooming Size

Eria obesa is a type of small orchid that grows in Assam, Myanmar, and Thailand. It likes warm to hot temperatures and grows on other plants without harming them. The orchid has thick, stubby stems that are silvery-green with purple lines, and covered in thin, papery layers. At the top of the stems, there are 4 to 5 long, pointed leaves that wrap around the stem. When the orchid blooms in the summer, it produces a few to several flowers on a stem that branches out from the side. The flowers are large and oval-shaped, with thin, pointed petals, and grow between two small leaves.

A wonderful miniature

This is a truly delightful little miniature. I find it very easy to grow in south Louisiana, USA. The two I received from siborchid were dormant, and now in bud. They are fat and healthy, and I am pleased with them.
