How plants are shipped
SibOrchid prepares all plants for international export using a bare-root preparation method. The original growing media is removed, and the roots are carefully cleaned according to international plant health regulations. For most shipments, the roots may be wrapped with Sphagnum Moss as a moisture-retaining material to help maintain plant hydration and reduce stress during transportation. However, some countries require completely bare-root shipments without any plant media, in which case all materials must be removed before export.
Each plant is individually wrapped with moisture-retaining paper and securely packed in insulated cartons to help protect plant health and minimize damage during international shipping.
Shipping charges
Shipping is quoted by destination, weight, and volume. Shipping fees are non-refundable under all circumstances, including delays, customs holds, refused parcels, or events beyond our control.
Weather holds
We monitor conditions at your destination. If temperatures are forecast below 5°C / 40°F or above 35°C / 95°F, we may hold your order and contact you before shipping.
You may also request a hold at any time — just reply to your order confirmation. We will store your plants at the nursery free of charge for up to 60 days.
If you ask us to ship despite an extreme weather warning, your order proceeds at your own risk and is not covered by the Live Arrival Guarantee.
Tracking
Tracking numbers are emailed the day your parcel leaves the nursery. International tracking can take 24–72 hours to begin updating.
Undeliverable parcels
If a parcel is returned to us because the address was incorrect, the recipient was unavailable, or duties were unpaid, we cannot resend or refund it. Live plants that have completed a return journey cannot legally be re-exported.
