Description

Eria obesa
Quantity 1 Plant Near blooming size pot 1″ pot
Eria obesa is a compact and unusual orchid species found in the forests of Southeast Asia. Known for its rounded, plump pseudobulbs and soft, grass-like foliage, this species is a great addition for collectors seeking something different from the typical orchid forms. It produces small, creamy white to yellowish flowers, often in clusters, with a subtle fragrance during the blooming season.
This species is relatively easy to grow and adapts well to both pot and mount culture. It prefers intermediate conditions with good humidity and airflow, making it suitable for terrarium setups or shaded greenhouse environments.
Plant Size:
•Blooming size in a 1.5–2-inch pot
•Well-rooted and established
Growing Conditions:
Light: Moderate to bright indirect light; avoid direct sunlight
Water: Keep moist during active growth, allow slight drying between waterings in cooler months
Humidity: 60–80% recommended, with good air circulation
Temperature: Intermediate range (15–28°C or 59–82°F)
Fertilizer: Use a diluted balanced orchid fertilizer every 2–3 weeks during the growing season

  1. This is a truly delightful little miniature. I find it very easy to grow in south Louisiana, USA. The two I received from siborchid were dormant, and now in bud. They are fat and healthy, and I am pleased with them.
