Thrixspermum trichoglottis is a plant that is native to Assam, the Andaman Islands, Yunnan province in China, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Sumatra. It grows in lowland and scrubby lower montane ridge forests at elevations ranging from 250 to 1500 meters. It is a small-sized epiphyte with mostly erect, thin, freely branching stems that bear narrowly oblong leaves with bilobed tips that are obtuse and taper into a very short, petiolate base. The plant flowers in late winter and early spring, producing a horizontal inflorescence that extends to a length of up to 4.4 inches (11 cm). The inflorescence bears successively single flowers that are accompanied by bracts and has ovate-triangular, acute, concave floral bracts.
